Janine Brady

Managing Director, Communications

Janine Brady is Managing Director of Communications at Schmidt Futures. In this role, she leads communications strategy and execution for the organization.

Janine was previously a leader in earned media strategy and execution at Edelman for a variety of clients across the global organization. Her efforts resulted in industry recognition, including a Gold Cannes Lion, a Webby, an Effie, and a Sabre Award, among others.

Prior to Edelman, Janine oversaw media relations, client strategy and direction for all accounts at Dini von Mueffling Communications, including Sandy Hook Promise. She led the gun violence prevention organization’s  “Back-to-School Essentials” campaign, which won an Emmy (2020) for Best Commercial, four Webbys including Best Viral PR campaign of 2020, a Gold Cannes Lion, and the PRWeek Award for Best Viral Campaign of 2020.

Janine began her career on the breaking news desk at CNN and later worked as a reporter and producer for NBC Nightly News and MSNBC’s Hardball with Chris Matthews. Janine then accepted a role in corporate communications where she helped spearhead NBCUniversal’s digital content and social media team. During that time, she led content production for NBCUniversal’s corporate website, which was voted the best website of 2016 by PR World.

Janine holds a B.A. in Government and Politics from The University of Maryland, College Park.
